The APM 105 mm f6.2 apochromat is the flagship of our high-end apos which can be taken with you on flights. It is almost perfectly corrected for chromatic aberration with extremely high spherical correction, meaning this model can be used for everything from low magnification wide field observing, with a maximum field of view of just over 4°, all the way up to extremely high magnifications for planetary and double stars. The OTA includes tube ring clamps, GP rail, 50mm finder bracket, and retractable dew shield.
It uses a 2" FeatherTouch focuser (made in United States) with a 1:10 micro reduction ratio. The 2" focuser is screwed into a drawtube, which creates a usable back focus of 246mm, which in turn allows the use of a bino-viewer with a 2" star diagonal, without having to use a Barlow lens. The OTA is optimized for use with a 2" star diagonal. Customer experience leads us to recommend a TeleVue 0.80X field flattener for improved edge definition when doing wide field astrophotography.
