Two new ranges of binoculars: BD II XD and SV II

April 1 2020, Betty Lux

This year Kowa have, once again, come up with new ranges of binoculars. With immediate effect you can benefit from the further development of two well-known product families.

Demand a wider angle of view: Kowa BD II XD binoculars

What can simplify birdwatching and the next nature trip? Presumably this is the question the Kowa developers were asking themselves as they put together the BD II XD. The answer is clear: the 6.5×32 model offers an exceptional visual field of 10° with which you will be able to locate birds, animals and other targets much more easily, and observe them effortlessly. On top of that comes greater ease of use – the BD II XD range sits wonderfully in the hand and is compact – as well as special Kowa XD lenses. The advantage: the lens material is enriched with fluorite, a material which yet again hugely increases not just contrast, but also resolving power.

However the BD II XD range is not just of interest to ornithologists and outdoor enthusiasts, but also for amateur astronomers. Thanks to the wide field of view and crystal clear imaging performance, you can conveniently and spectacularly enjoy the Moon, the planets and constellations.

Further development of the proven SV range: Kowa SV II binoculars

The Kowa SV range is well-known and tried and tested by birdwatchers. But Kowa is not resting on its laurels, but instead has once again significantly improved their ease of use. The SV II range now has a fresh, green, new look and has improved lens caps which cannot be so easily mislaid. The eyecups are robust, the focusing runs smoothly and is easy to operate.

So all in all a real outdoors binocular that offers excellent value for money. This range also includes the KR coating developed by Kowa, which makes the binoculars ready for action in any weather, while ensuring that water or dirt can accumulate on the lenses.

We offer all new products and of course all the well-proven Kowa optics ranges. Click through our selection and you will quickly find the perfect pair of binoculars for you.

Bushnell Spectator Sport Binoculars in the latest edition of Trekking Magazine

July 5 2019, Betty Lux

In the July edition of the Trekking Magazine you can get your money’s worth from the great outdoors. In the product review various brands of binoculars in different price ranges were presented, among them the Bushnell Spectator Sport 8×25.

Enjoy the magic of nature in close-up

What is the most important consideration when buying binoculars specifically for hiking, travel, and outdoor activities? The answer is really simple: they must be low weight. No-one wants heavy binoculars hanging from their neck for hours at a time. The Bushnell Spectator Sport PermaFocus 8×25 is a real lightweight, weighing just 304 grams. Anyone who thinks that this must compromise quality is mistaken; as is typical for Bushnell, all the latest innovations are on board. This includes multiple layers of coatings on the lens surfaces along with being nitrogen-purged to ensure no fogging due to temperature changes. This can happen anytime when hiking in the mountains, as all experienced hikers know only too well. The best feature: the built-in PermaFocus eliminates the need to continually adjust the focus – ensuring that you can immediately enjoy every precious moment of your tour.

June 11 2019, Betty Lux

Since time immemorial the human race and human imagination have been fascinated by the Moon. Through a telescope or astronomical binoculars it seems so close and yet still it sometimes seems so far away. However scientific knowledge about the Earth’s satellite has multiplied in recent years.

The publishing house Columbus Verlag, one of the very first manufacturers of lunar globes, has created a completely new and revised lunar globe – exclusively for us! Because the relief map is intricately applied by hand, the result is a significantly higher resolution and brilliant image. This lunar globe represents high quality workmanship, made in Germany.

Find the Right Binoculars or Night Vision Device – New Models for 2019!

March 12 2019, Betty Lux

The new year has already arrived. Our binoculars and optical instrument suppliers are also making great headway with a wide range of innovations and new products –

whether bird or nature watching – you can’t go wrong with this all-rounder

Celestron‘s Trailseeker ED binoculars are a brand new article on the market. The popular and already available Trailseeker series  has now been extended with the use of high-quality ED glass. ED glass, also known as ‘Extra Low Dispersion Glass‘ reduces chromatic aberration to a minimum. That is a particular advantage when the lighting conditions are unfavourable, such as in the twilight. Despite it often being good weather in the Spring, it does still get dark quite early. But these binoculars will let you continue observing animals and birds well into the early evening. Savour every minute of your time outdoors in the countryside – your Trailseeker ED binoculars will help you!

Speaking of the night: how about a night vision device?

Not without reason, the demand for night vision devices is higher than ever. Only a few years ago, these devices were not always particularly technically sophisticated, unwieldy and, most of all, expensive. Thankfully, those days are now over – as with the new Minox NVD 650 night vision device. The 6X magnification, with up to 30X digital zoom, allows you to see details in the dark. But what is really special is its range – with details still visible up to 350m away – putting the Minox NVD 650 firmly in the top echelon of 1st generation night vision devices! The photos and HD videos you take with it can be saved to a Micro-SD card and shown to friends and family later. And, last but not least, the device is really great value for money.

Like a ghost: Stellanova floating globe Saturn

Extraordinary and fascinating at the same time: that is how the Stellanova floating globes can be described. In the picture is shown the Saturn globe with 15cm diameter. But, how does it work exactly? With a new technology CCL (Computer Controlled Levitation) a magnetic field sensor measures the height of the floating sphere. With additional electronics in the base and magnets in the upper part, the globe is held in between – and appears to float magically! This high-tech device is of course the center of attention as soon as assembled. Bring home the weightlessness of the universe!
