The globe features the "Classic" cartography of the National Geographic Maps Division. This cartography is essentially political, with physical information indicated by shading.
Over 2,000 geographical names are listed on this hand-laminated illuminated globe. The text is clearly laid out and each country is shown in a different colour, with a darker shade at the borders to highlight the political map.
Undersea trenches and basins are marked in the oceans. Red and blue arrows indicate the most important warm and cold ocean currents. Different shades of blue indicate the depths of the oceans, while special shading emphasises mountain ranges on the land masses.
