The globe features the "Executive" cartography of the National Geographic Maps Division in the style of antique maps. This cartography is essentially political, with physical information indicated by shading.
Over 2,000 geographical names are listed on this hand-laminated illuminated floor globe. The text is clearly laid out and each country is shown in a different colour, with a darker shade at the borders to highlight the political map.
Undersea trenches and basins are marked in the oceans. Different shades of blue indicate the depths of the oceans, while shading marks the mountain ranges on the land masses.
