It's all thanks to your smartphone: With these telescopes, even complete beginners can capture fascinating images of nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies—just like the pros.

Smart telescopes combine star field recognition software with sophisticated algorithms for capturing and processing astrophotographs. Aligning with the sky and locating targets happens just as automatically as exposing and stacking the images. This process combines information from many individual images, revealing more and more detail on the smartphone. This makes it possible to capture deep-sky objects such as nebulae and galaxies—even under a brightened sky—and share them on social media. While direct visual observations through an eyepiece are not intended, the new category of smart telescopes offers backpack-friendly dimensions and unmatched ease of use.
