*BEGINNER REVIEW*
I own the Meade Infinity 80/400 since October last year and it is my first scope ever. So far I've been able to identify many stars, learn most of the constellations and explore the moon in detail. It's been a good experience and the rich field view of the scope was confusing at first, but came in handy later when I was simply roaming the night sky. I have also seen Saturn and Jupiter, the latter with a little bit of chromatic aberration, but it is not at all that disturbing if you focus your eye on the planet. I noticed that when I look at big objects while using the maximum magnification there is a little bit of CA, but like I said - it's not even disturbing me. I have also bought a T-Ring and managed to take hundreds of detailed photos of the moon with my Canon. Since I can now see Orion constellation from my place I went out at -7 Celsius and spent like 2 hours looking at it, only. I could even see the Orion nebula which, of course, didn't look at all like in the pictures, but for a naked human eye it's good enough, seemed like a cosmic dust or smoke to me. All in all, Meade Infinity 80/400 has been great for me and really got me into the hobby. The mount seems sturdy and stable, does not occupy a lot of space and is easily portable, so if you have to travel so you can get a clear night sky (like I do) it's a very good pick. I did use the telescope for terrestrial observations and photography and it does perform well. I only regret not buying a suitable mount for astrophotography since that is clearly what I want to do now :D
