Excellent scope with a few puzzling decisions

Received it recently as a first scope and I must say I'm perfectly happy with it. The views have rich contrast and the false colour is minimal, seeming perfectly on the low side of normal for an achromat at this focal length to me. Star test shows good collimation according to diagrams I've found online. The few decisions that puzzle me slightly are the very light and not very well fitted plastic handles for the slow-motion controls on the mount. They come off a little too easily and I'm afraid they might get lost in the dark at some point. With a mount of ~300 euros in value that's not something I'm best pleased with. Another puzzling decision to me is the 6.3mm Plössl eyepiece. I understand that Japanese observers tend to use shorter focal length eyepieces, but I really feel that a 9mm eyepiece would have been a better match for this scope. The extremely short eye relief makes it unpleasant to use, with the eyeball almost pressed to the eyepiece. It also produces very dim images and due to the large magnification objects leave the field of view very quickly. Stars in the south may spend as little as 10-15 seconds in view. Uninformed beginners might want as much magnification as possible, but at this price I expect most buyers will have done their research and know magnification isn't everything.
So on the whole I'm very happy with it, especially with a few upgrades - but I feel it could be better.
