Shortly after writing this angry comment, i received an email from Astroshop with a solution to my problem.
They are in the process of shipping the correct base to me and i thank them immensely for it.
I later tried my telescope using a chair for a base and was able to get spectacular views of the half moon.
The experience was fabulous for the whole family. Cannot wait to test it with the correct base.

I ordered this scope a couple months ago, and as i was shipping it to a "difficult" country, i called Astroshop to talk to someone in person before i placed the order so i do not get anything wrong. The Astroshop salesman told me that i did not need to order the black shroud because it was included. I mentioned that i was also getting a 2"polarizing filter for the lens that came with it, he said that was fine.
I discovered later that in the product description it says (26mm QX™ Wide Angle 2" Eyepiece Deluxe Model This premium eyepiece has a 2" barrel, and boasts a whopping 70° Apparent Field of View) and in the specifications it says (1.25 eyepieces Super Ploessl 26 mm), guess which lens eventually came with the scope? The 1.25" one, so i purchased the 2" filter in vain.
Needless to say the black shroud was not included!
That is not the main story here. The main story is that when the scope finally cleared customs in the " difficult" destination country, i discovered that Astroshop had sent the 10" scope with the 12" base.
So between the absence of black shroud, the unusable 2" filter and the base where the scope won't fit, it has been over two months and 1500Euros + 700Usd in customs fees, and i cannot use it.
Two weeks already in email back and forth with the lovely Jenniffer from customer service, and many explanatory photos, measurements and product number exchanges, i still did not get a hint of a solution for my problem. And all i am asking for is to receive the correct base, nothing else!
