The AP 130/1200 optics: The answer for observers looking for a 5" "super planet apo" with unbeatable optical quality and colour correction at extreme magnifications for planetary observation at the highest magnifications.
The dew shield and the main tube are made of Krüpax® 50, all other parts are made of high-quality aluminium, CNC turned or milled. The tube and dew shield are painted RAL 9001 cream white, the aluminium parts are painted black. The dew shield is screwed on and can be moved to reduce the transport length. It ends in the front area with an internal baffle that effectively prevents dew from falling on the optics over long periods of time.
The 3.5" FeatherTouch focuser works with a high-precision rack that is adjustable with the drive pinion and can be rotated 360° with absolutely no play. The play-free rotation is particularly important in photography, so that you can first set the focus and then rotate to find the best frame.
The 50 mm finder holder is attached to the focuser itself with a quick-release mechanism that is so precisely engineered that it remains constantly aligned even after repeated changes of the finder.
The focuser ends with a 3"-2" reduction adaptor with clamping ring and a 2"-1.25" adaptor with brass clamping ring. The entire focuser with finder bracket can also be rotated 360°, so that the finder can always be moved to the most comfortable position for you, the attached and focused 35 mm or medium format camera can always be rotated to the desired position, and you do not have to detach your diagonal mirrors with eyepieces when the position of the sky changes, but only have to rotate the focuser. The rotation and the focus drive can be clamped using a hand screw.
The tube clamps are made of black powder-coated, CNC-machined aluminium and come with a flat base at the top and bottom, a central 1/4-20" thread and two outer 1/4-20" threads with a 60 mm hole spacing (Astro Physics standard).
This apochromat is not only a wonderful, powerful visual apo for observations at the highest magnifications of planets and double stars, completely colour-pure with the highest contrast, but also an excellent astrograph. This system, with its specially matched field flattener/reducer, produces a fully illuminated and corrected field for full-frame cameras and produces pin-sharp star images right into the corners, even with the latest larger sensors.
