This telescope is available in the "Chromosphere" and "Prominence" versions.
DayStar offers two versions of the QUARK H-Alpha module, each with a filter effect optimised for a preferred application:
- Protuberance model for observation of phenomena at the edge of the sun
- Chromosphere model for phenomena on the solar disc
Both versions are available at the same price. The only difference is an optimisation: the half-width of the prominences version is slightly larger. The higher light transmission allows even the finest prominences at the edge of the sun to be seen. The chromosphere version has a smaller half-width and therefore reproduces structures on the solar disc in high spectral resolution.
Of course, you can also observe prominences with the chromosphere model and vice versa.
In line with the two variants of the QUARK filter, there is a protuberance and a chromosphere version for every DayStar H-alpha solar telescope.
