The AP 72/432 optics are an excellent travel telescope with a length of only 32 centimetres and a sturdy transport case. It is ideal for astrophotography of distant star fields and galactic nebulae!
The double lens with air gap and a low dispersion FPL53 element ensures high colour purity. The recommended accessories also include a suitable reducer, which further improves the already fast f/6 aperture ratio for photography.
Mechanical stability is crucial, especially for photographic applications: the rack and pinion focuser has a high load capacity, a reduction gear, is rotatable and equipped with a twist-lock adaptor. You can connect accessories with both 2-inch and 1.25-inch barrel diameters.
The twist-lock system enables perfect clamping on the axis. Accessories can no longer become jammed, and annoying problems with the combination of "locking groove and ring clamp" are a thing of the past. By turning the upper ring, the ring closes perfectly around the eyepiece and centres it optimally on the axis. A slight tightening is sufficient to achieve a very stable clamping, as the entire surface is clamped.
In addition to centring, the system has the advantage that it can be easily operated with gloves and can also carry heavy loads.
