The Alter 66 f6 Maksutov-Newtonian from Intes Micro. This medium-sized model comes with an aperture illumination that has been optimized for photo-visual purposes. In brightness and contrast sharpness, this Maksutov-Newtonian is about equivalent to a very good 5" apochromat. With its 900mm focal length and the use of a wide angle 2" eyepiece, it gives a field of view which is sufficient for most extended deep sky objects, including comets.
Due to its low weight, an inexpensive mount as the Vixen GP-DX, SkyWatcher H-EQ5, EQ-6, Losmandy GM 8, OTE-150 is sufficient. In addition to cooling from the fan, the main mirror can be cooled using the outside air by removing a plate at the rear. Both the main mirror and secondary mirror are fully adjustable, and also the secondary mirror bracket has been modified with our models so that it can be handled and rotated without having to touch the meniscus lens with your fingers.
The telescope has proved to be an exceptionally good CCD platform. All Intes Micro Maksutov-Newtonians have a sophisticated interior system of baffles where the complete OTA interior has been designed and equipped with baffles, and with an extra set of baffles opposite the focuser which effectively blocks any stray light from reflections within the OTA from getting into the eyepiece.
Mirrors made from Sital or quartz, as well as an increase in the optical quality up to 1/10 wave front p.t.v and a Zygo Mark II interferometry test report, as well as alternative focusers are available on special request.
