The AP 115/800 optics use an objective with two special glass elements (Lanthanum glass and FPL51 from Ohara, Japan). This combination ensures maximum transmission with minimal colour aberration. The correction is significantly better than that of comparable ED instruments. The objective is not cemented, but has an air gap. It is multi-coated on every glass-air surface for maximum contrast. It is free of tension and mounted in a temperature-compensated frame. Of course, the objective is adjustable.
The Apo is ideal for astrophotography. For image field correction, we recommend the Tecnosky Flattener/Reducer 0.8x. This is ideal for APS-C and full-frame cameras!
The fast aperture ratio allows for short exposure times and high resolution. Both extensive nebulae and small galaxies or planetary nebulae can be photographed very well with the Apo.
The aluminium tube is equipped with internal light baffles. The retractable dew shield shortens the Apo for transport.
The rotatable 2.5" focuser with 1:10 reduction ratio easily supports heavy cameras. Its precision, high load capacity and large exit pupil guarantee vignetting-free lighting even for large sensors, such as full-frame DSLR cameras.
