This telescope is a lightweight alternative to Newtonian telescopes, whose tubes are made of heavy steel or flexible aluminium. This allows you to work with a smaller mount and attach more equipment for astrophotography.
Your advantages at a glance:
- High-quality parabolic mirror with 94% reflection from GSO. A main mirror vent at the rear of the main mirror cell allows for faster cooling. Easy-to-use knurled screws allow for precise main mirror collimation without tools.
- The carbon tube is made in Germany. It is not only approximately two kilograms lighter than the steel version, but also more stable and stiffer than an aluminium tube. This is particularly important if you attach heavy accessories to the focuser: the collimation remains unchanged. Due to the favourable expansion behaviour of carbon, the tube is also particularly temperature-stable.
- The Newtonian is equipped with a sturdy 2" focuser. This can support heavy accessories without tilting and has a 1:10 micro reduction gear.
- An ultra-thin 0.5 mm stainless steel spider holds the secondary mirror in place.
Focus position: The focus is 65 mm above the 2" barrel of the focuser and can be easily reached with DSLR or CCD cameras. For observation with eyepieces, you will need a 2"/35 mm extension tube, which is included in the delivery. You will be able to focus easily with all eyepieces.
