The optics: 120 mm ED APO f/7.5
The Airy 120 mm apochromatic refractor uses a lens with FPL-53 element - multi-coated for maximum performance in every application! Thanks to the excellent correction of chromatic aberration, the Apo produces a high-contrast image with lots of detail. This makes the telescope ideal for astrophotography, especially when used with DSLR cameras. However, the large aperture also makes it a pleasure to use for pure visual observation!
The hybrid drive focuser
One of the great strengths of the Airy 120 mm Apo compared to comparable products is the excellent focuser. It is as smooth to operate as a Crayford focuser, but an additional rack prevents slipping. The focuser can hold up to 8 kg and can be moved smoothly via the microfocus. Thanks to the huge focus range of 95 millimetres, you can easily focus both with a focally mounted camera and visually with diagonal mirrors and eyepieces.
What is particularly impressive about the Airy series telescopes is their precise mechanical manufacturing: all aluminium parts are CNC-milled, even the protection cap. The tube clamps are part of PrimaLuceLab's PLUS system. You will find many suitable mounting options in our shop under the keyword PLUS.
The dew shield can be retracted for easier transport.
