The refractors in the EvoStar series not only feature an elegant design, but also premium optics. On various mounts, you will find achromats with two lenses in the lower price segment and apochromats with a double lens system in the higher price segment. The special glass significantly reduces colour aberrations and ensures a spectacular viewing experience.
Due to the use of less glass in their construction, the Evostars are usually lighter and therefore more comfortable to transport than triplets with the same aperture.
The apochromatic optics deliver high-contrast, sharp images.
With this relatively large aperture, the two-lens ED optics offer excellent imaging properties and provide astrophotographers with a fast optical system with a favourable aperture ratio, which is also suitable for purely visual observation.
The use of FPL-53 ED glass reduces almost all visible colour aberrations. ED (extra low dispersion) glass has very low colour dispersion and a low refractive index. An optional focal reducer/field flattener can be found in the recommended accessories.
The metallic high transmission coating applied to the lenses offers a high light transmission of 99.5%.
Photographers will get their money's worth, because objects such as the Andromeda Galaxy or the famous open star cluster of the Pleiades are predestined celestial objects that are shown to their best advantage at this focal length.
The tube has a solid 2.8" Crayford focuser with 1:11 fine drive for precise focusing and connection for 2" accessories. The focuser is also equipped with a 360° rotator, which allows the camera to be rotated optimally to the object.
Even from the outside, the optics are a real gem: they impress with their elegant, top-class design, and the tube and finder scope shimmer in an aesthetic black tone.
