The AP 102/700 ED optics feature a lens made from a combination of synthetic fluorite FPL-53 and lanthanum with high-quality FMC coating. The combination of these two types of glass ensures very low colour aberration and high transmission. With this apochromat, the moon and planets show fine details, and double stars can be sharply separated.
It is a real pleasure to observe with such a high-quality ED apochromat! Unlike a reflecting telescope, there are no secondary mirrors to reduce the resolving power, and the entire lens diameter is available as a light-gathering surface.
With its fast aperture ratio, the AP 102/700 ED is very well suited for astrophotography. For this purpose, the telescope is equipped with a high-quality R&P focuser with a long adjustment range and reduction gear.
The scope also comes with a prism rail, which allows the telescope to be mounted on all common medium-sized mounts.
