Apochromatic refractor with divisible tube: The perfect telescope for visual observation and astrophotography!
The triplet objective meets the criteria of a full apochromat. Even at magnifications of 400x, the image is free of annoying colour aberrations. Even bright stars are rendered without annoying blue fringes in astrophotography. The APO element is made of FPL53 from Ohara in Japan. The triplet objective with air gap is fully adjustable. Each optical glass-air surface is multi-coated. The lens is in a temperature-compensated, adjustable mount.
The separable metal tube is a real innovation: thanks to the screw-off tube segments, any accessories can be used, from flatteners/reducers to binocular attachments. The focuser is always in the optimal position.
- Shortest position: Suitable for the large Riccardi Reducer 0.75x RIRED-M82 for full format and for binocular use without glass path compensation (with 1.25" diagonal mirrors)
- Middle position: Suitable for the TS 2.5" full-frame flattener
- Longest position with both extension pieces: Suitable for visual observation with 2" diagonal mirrors
The 3" focuser is optimised for photography. The focuser tube is adjusted via a rack and pinion mechanism. The mechanical stability is very similar to that of the Starlight Feather Touch FTF3035. We also offer a motorised focuser for the focuser.
Photographic use: one telescope, two focal lengths!
- Focal length 525 mm / aperture ratio f/4.9 with RICCARDI Reducer: The flexible focus position thanks to the modular tube allows the use of the excellent 0.75x Riccardi Reducer. The focal length is reduced to 525 mm and the light intensity is increased to f/4.9. Sensors up to 42 mm in diameter are fully illuminated. The reducer is screwed onto the M82 thread of the focuser (you will need the M78/M82 adaptor for this). Both tube segments are unscrewed. The optimum distance from the M82x1 internal thread on the camera side to the camera sensor is 78.3 mm.
- Focal length 700 mm / aperture ratio f/6.5 with 2.5" full-frame flattener: With the 2.5" full-frame flattener, you can achieve 100% illumination even with full-frame sensors. No adaptors are required to connect the flattener to the focuser. One tube segment is unscrewed. The optimum distance from the M69 internal thread on the camera side to the camera sensor is 99 mm.
