The AP 90/540 optics : The colour-pure and fast 90 mm apochromat is equally well suited for visual observation and astrophotography.
The compact apo is only slightly larger than apochromats with an 80 mm aperture, but offers significantly better performance in the sky. The retractable dew shield makes this refractor an ideal travel telescope.
The triplet lens with a 90 mm aperture and 540 mm focal length meets the criteria of a full apochromat. Even at magnifications of around 300x, the image is free of annoying colour aberrations. Even bright stars are reproduced in astrophotography without annoying blue fringes. The APO element is made of FPL55. Another special glass supports colour correction. The triplet lens with air gap is fully adjustable. Each optical glass-air surface is multi-coated. The objective is in a temperature-compensated, adjustable mount.
The 2.5" rack & pinion focuser is optimised for photography and can carry accessories weighing up to 6 kilograms. The reduction gear allows for sensitive focusing. The focuser accepts accessories with 2" and 1.25" barrel extensions, but also allows screw-in adaptation via the M63x1 internal thread. The focuser also offers 360° rotation for selecting the right image section.
Astrophotography: To achieve the best image in the field, a corrector is required. The corrector is screwed directly onto the M63 thread of the apochromat. You will find the appropriate corrector in the recommended accessories.
