Following the success of the OWL125, Tecnosky has now launched a larger version with an impressive optical diameter of 150 mm and an aperture ratio of f/8.
Thanks to the use of two high-quality glasses - synthetic fluorite FPL53 and lanthanum - chromatic aberration is extremely well corrected, making this telescope particularly suitable for observing planets, the moon and double stars. In combination with the 1x or 0.8x reducer, it is also an excellent instrument for photography with CMOS or SLR cameras. The tube is made entirely of aluminium with internal baffles and a matt finish to prevent reflections. The robust, CNC-machined 3.5-inch rack and pinion focuser holds heavy loads with extreme precision, and the field rotator allows you to position the desired subject without losing focus.
To secure the camera or an eyepiece, there is a rotating 2" eyepiece adaptor with a click lock and self-centring reduction to 1.25". The focuser also has a scale on the extension tube and a practical 1:10 fine focus. By unscrewing the extension between the tube and the focuser, this refractor can also be used with a binocular attachment or optical correctors. The scope comes with a pair of tube clamps, a long Losmandy plate and a handy handle. As with the entire OWL Apo series, this OTA also comes with an optical certificate with a Strehl ratio of at least 0.95.
