The AP 152/1216 optics combine lanthanum glass with an FPL-51 element. Thanks to the use of these two special low-dispersion glasses, colour aberrations are extremely low, even with very bright objects such as the Moon or planets – a true apochromat!
Thanks to its large aperture and relatively long focal length, this telescope is very versatile. It is ideal for permanent mounting in a club or garden observatory. The Losmandy rail ensures a secure hold. The prism rail on the other side is used to attach accessories such as guide scope rings.
With an aperture of over 150 mm and obstruction-free lens optics, the wide world of deep sky objects is open to you: star clusters, nebulae and distant galaxies! When observing the moon and planets, you can enjoy the extremely high contrast images produced by the apochromatic optics. The relatively high focal length allows high magnifications with high resolution.
Astro photography with a modest refractor quickly leads to great results, even for beginners. The rotatable, geared focuser, which can hold up to 7 kilograms of accessories without slipping, also helps. With an optional focal reducer, the image field can be expanded and the required exposure time reduced.
