The Series 6000 Apochromatic Refractors are some of the best crafted refractors on the market. Each refractor is individually constructed and tested to ensure that they meet the highest standards, both optically and mechanically.
These telescopes were built with the observer and imager in mind. With the optical design using the highest grade extra-low dispersion optical glass, false color is virtually eliminated, yielding astonishing color correction, contrast, and sharpness.
- Fully multi-coated optics for enhanced light transmission
- 2.5” dual-speed rack & pinion focuser with a 10:1 fine focus knob for precise focusing
- Adapters for 48mm and 42mm standardized T-thread.
- Sliding dew shield for enhanced portability
- Vixen-style dovetail with mounting rings
- Aluminum hard carry case to protect your investment
The AP 70/350 optics follow the 4-element Petzval design with FPL-53 glass. This telescope is ideal for demanding and advanced astrophotography. The fully illuminated, corrected field has a diameter of 42 millimetres and is therefore suitable for full-frame cameras.
In the Petzval design, the objective lens is designed as a doublet and corrects spherical aberration (focus error) very well, resulting in a very sharp image. The downstream aperture corrects astigmatism. The additional doublet of two lenses in the beam path finally corrects the so-called coma. Ultimately, four lenses are used, which is why it can be referred to as a quadruplet apochromat, even though the objective lens is only a doublet.
It not only matters which telescope you buy but also where you buy it. Our additional services:
- We are a leading telescope dealer and know the devices we sell. Our customer service team will gladly help you after your purchase if you have problems with assembly or operation.
- We provide a copy of the 80-page Telescope ABC beginners handbook with every telescope.
This apochromat cannot be used visually due to its back focus of only 60mm.
It is purely an astrograph for photographic use.
