I used to own one similar to this(also Skywatcher), though it was coated in blue and black. It was an excellent scope when I started doing astrophotography. It has good light gathering capacity at a great focal length for Deep Sky Objects. With 500mm you can get great shots at The Great Nebula in Orion, the Andromeda galaxy, the Pleiades and plenty other nebulae and star clusters.
Mind you, it's an achromat and will give you fringes around the stars at long exposure times. It has great focuser travel though with a mediocre quality construction. The Red Dot finder is also a must have. Simple little device, super easy to use. I combined this scope with a Semi-APO filter I bought a while ago and gave me decent images.
I say it's worth considering when thinking of buying an entry level scope.
